There is a good analogy in the general public’s appetite for alternative medicines: doctors and agencies which regulate pharmaceuticals and treatments are analogous to the legal authority around securities, and the public’s desire to make money is analogous to the a sick person’s desire to be cured.

Like every other human problem, the fix ultimately is education.
